Preparations

Our Journey is about to begin, we are on the countdown. On October 11th we take off from Portland to Amman, Jordan, via Chicago and Vienna.
Our paperwork (tickets, schedules, Passports etc) is done, packing is not.
I have tried to get an e-mail list or IMessage list going, but Apple is not very accommodating. Tried a Group App for e-mails, but it failed me.
So decided to go with a blog instead.
So everyone, stay tuned as more is coming.

Richard, our captain and owner of Yellowpoint Lodge takes us on boat trips twice a week in his Cutter.  Once at Yellowpoint there is no charge for anything extra, incl. Kayaks, bicycles, boat trips etc...and....
we have three wonderful meals a day plus three tea breaks as well.  All homemade from their large kitchen.

Each year in August, Bob and I head for Yellowpoint Lodge, in Ladysmith, BC on Vancouver Island.

It is a sight to behold, and a respite for the Soul. 

For 23 years this spot has been our place of total unwinding and where friendships have been cultivated and deepened.

The love we received this year, because of Erik's death, is beyond description.  It went so deep and wide; kindness is the word.  A gentle kindness that brought tears and healing from the most amazing people.

We will see you all again..

A Father Remembered

 We remember Erik with great fondness as a son, brother, father, uncle and friend.

What are Friends for...

Friends are special at every age....Even if the older one moves on to First grade and the others stay behind.  Perhaps that adds to the specialness of friendships.

My garden gives me so much JOY each and every year.  It is a place of family gatherings, grand-children playing, silent mediation, beholding the beauty of God's creative work which I love to display and so much more.  This years colors are not as vivid, yet I like it that way.  Lots of beauty shows up in the greenery and it exudes calmness.  A little red here and a little white, yellow and blue there adds to the calmness.
